Doris’s Spargel überbacken

Many of you know Doris, she has been a server for us for years now. Doris grew up in Germany and has been cooking the cuisine since she was a child. Here is one of her favorite recipes using a season ingredient white asparagus.

2 lb. of Fresh White Asparagus
1/3 cup Butter
½ cup of Dry White wine
½ lb. Kassler (Smoked pork Loin)
¼ cup parmesan Cheese
Salt and Pepper

1. Preheat Oven to 300 degrees
2. Wash, Peel Asparagus from the head down
3. Rinse  again and Dry
4. Bring large pot of water to a boil, Add Salt
5. Boil Asparagus for 15 mins
6. Once tender pat dry ant place in a casserole dish.
7. Meanwhile melt 1/3 of a cup of butter in another pan
8. Add Melted butter, ½ cup of dry white wine to Casserole Dish
9. Cut 1/2 lb. of Kassler in to Thin strips and place atop Asparagus
10. Add ¼ cup of parmesan cheese  and place atop asparagus and Kassler
11. Season with Salt and Pepper and Bake for 10 Minutes
